The mind, when housed within a healthful body, possesses a glorious sense of power – J. Pilates
Pilates is a form of physical training developed by Joseph Pilates in the 1920s. Originally from Germany, Pilates emigrated to the United States of America in the 1920s, where he began to promote his concept of “Contrology.”
Joseph Pilates created this system of physical exercises with the aim of improving the strength, flexibility, and balance of the body. He believed that improving these aspects could help prevent and treat various health problems.

Over the years, the system has grown in popularity, being adopted by dancers, athletes, and regular people who wanted to improve their physical shape. Today, Pilates is practiced all over the world and is considered one of the best forms of training for improving health and physical fitness.

Pilates primarily means well-being. It focuses on training the body and mind to improve physical, mental, and spiritual condition, with multiple benefits: it improves posture, tones muscles, improves flexibility and balance, reshapes the body, improves muscular endurance and strength, reduces stress, unites the mind and body, reduces stress and fatigue caused by improper posture, incorrect breathing, and functional imbalances.
It is not a harsh and difficult technique that exhausts or causes pain. On the contrary, through simultaneous movements of muscle contraction and stretching, the body is subjected to a pleasant, relaxing, and efficient effort at the same time.
The main goal is to make people aware of themselves, their bodies, and their minds.
